Fostering Homeless Pets

Fostering helps us save the lives of companion animals in Bastrop County.  Fostering saves not only the life of the animal you choose to foster but it also saves the life of the animal that will need the kennel space your foster pet no longer needs.  Without foster homes we would not be able to save the number of animals we do.  If you are interested in becoming a foster please fill out the application in the link below.

Animals Needing Foster Care

There are many animals that come through our animal shelter that benefit from foster homes.  Just some examples are as follows:
  • Orphaned Puppies and Kittens who need to be bottle fed
  • Puppies and kittens that are not yet fully vaccinated and are vulnerable to disease
  • Animals who need a place to stay until rescue is available or until their forever home is found

Foster Guidelines

Below you will find a copy of our foster care handbook.  This booklet has more information on how fostering works, and what is required of a foster home.  Please look over it with the other members of your household and be sure they are onboard with bringing an animal temporarily into your home.
